Gaia is a personal assistant that its owner runs on their own computer. This policy covers the Gaia service, the Gaia iPhone app, and Gaia's access to Google user data. The source code is public.
Gaia runs on a computer you own. Your conversations, memory, schedules, and connector records are stored on that computer. The developer of Gaia runs no server that receives or stores your data. The iPhone app talks only to your own computer.
If you connect a Google account, Gaia asks for these permissions:
gmail.readonly), and compose drafts and send mail (gmail.compose). Labelling (gmail.modify) is requested only if you approve a labelling action.calendar.readonly), and create, change or reply to events (calendar.events).openid, email), to name the connected account. The tokens Google issues are held by one process on your computer, the Gaia broker. They are stored in a directory only that account can read, and are never shown to the AI model, written to Gaia's main database, or included in an export. When you disconnect, Gaia asks Google to revoke the access, then deletes the tokens.
Gaia does not sell Google user data. It does not use Google user data for advertising, and does not transfer it to anyone except:
Humans do not read your data. The exception is you, or the case where you ask for help and share it yourself.
Gaia's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
